About Us
Maidstone Hospital League of Friends (LoF) aims to provide a link between the hospital Trust and the community it serves, and supports the hospital in any way possible.
Our main source of income is the profit we derive from the shop, which is located in the main entrance area, and offers an extensive range of toiletries, stationery, confectionery, sandwiches, local bakery, honey, soft drinks and ice cream in addition to seasonal fresh fruit and gifts. Our ward trolleys provide a service for patients and visitors Monday – Friday and our newly refurbished ‘little shop’ serves the eye clinic and surrounding areas. The book shop is also a most valuable source of income raising in excess of £25,000p.a. and is popular with patients and visitors alike.
Our aim is to provide services and equipment which will benefit our patients, visitors and staff. Our shop is constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of our hospital and we are very proud of our work to provide extra funding for the Trust. During 2024/2025, we funded an extensive list of items totalling £174,633.13.
Our Fundraising committee is an integral part of our set up and their activities include many things such as organising our Summer Fair and Christmas Fair, prize draws, cake sales, quiz nights and raffles.
We receive generous legacies and donations and all donations are equally appreciated.
